Why I Joined Fire/EMS: After being discharged from the US Army in 1966 I took a firefighter job at a military instillation near Stockton, CA. I took the job with the idea that the firefighter job would do fine until I could find a "Real Job". I retired from Alameda Co. CA in 1987. Guess I did have a real job.
