From the time I was a child this calling was part of my life. Perhaps it was the fact that "Uncle Frosty" was an Asst. Chief. Perhaps the fact that my next door neighbor was also Asst. Chief. No, I think not. Rather, the fact that everytime the fire whistle would blow calling the firemen, I went just to watch them go. That soon evolved into me being trusted to have a key to the firehouse at the age of 9. Why? Because I would always beat the firement to the firehouse (and I was on my bike). Uncle Frosty gave me a copy of the key and had me throw the doors for them. Simply put, I was hooked.
