About Me:
I started out as a kid going to fires with my dad. WEhen I was old enough I was given my first set of turn out (age 10) by my uncle. I joined an Explorer post for 3 years till I was old enough to join the fire department as a full member. I received my basic EMT certification my first year of college. I served as an Assistant Chief, training officer and EMS Captain for the Canoga Volunteer Fire department. I am now a State Fire Instructor and an advanced level EMT. I was the mastermind in developing the Ultralife Batteries Fire Response Brigade. I now serve as chief, Training officer and Emergency Manager for the company. The department has 35 members. I have 3 assistant Chiefs, 3 Captains. Seneca Falls Fire department is a village owned department which is a paid on call type of department. We answered 601 runs last year 270 of which were Fire type responses and the remainder were EMS related. All of my jobs are fire or EMS related.

Top Issues Facing Responders:
The biggest issue facing the fire service is staffing. Whether carrer or volunteer the staffing for most departments are dangerously low.
