I'm with the government of Malawi under the ministry of transport and infrastructure, department of civil aviation, posted to Kamuzu International Airport Fire and Rescue Section for the position of Rescuer/Firefighter. I'm now clocking two years in the services... Have had Aircraft Emergency turnouts and more than ten structural fire turnouts so far. We also support the Lilongwe city fire brigade when they luck streangth during their turnous.

My Training:

I am a trained Aviation Rescuer and Firefighter, holding a certification of International civil aviation organisation (ICAO) in Basic firefightering. We finished this training in seven months. During this perion we also did Aircraft fires, Structual fires, confined space rescue, pump operation, hazadous materials handling, Basic first aid and phyisical drills... Also went deep with the firefighting agents such as Water, Foam, Dry powder and Carbon dioxide... Currently we do daily drills and lectures so as to refresh our knowledge in fire.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Wants to interact with fellow fire family worldwide so as to market myself to foreign countries. My dream is to work in countries where i can be having more turnouts to save life and property of people who are in danger of live fires and natural disasters. Here in our country Malawi we don't experience lot of problems with fires, so it is like i just keep knowledge which i can use somewhere and save endangered lives and property.
