I;m a new EMT-B with aspirations to work in the Fire Service somewhere in the Los Angeles/Santa Barabara area. IN the meantime, I work for a cellular construction company out of Orange County, getting by and getting some interesting certifications that can carry over to any department that picks me up.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

The biggest initial reason is still kind of personal, but that initial decision has led to a host of other reasons why I want to become a Firefighter.

being mentally confident about being able to handle just about anything

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Getting the public educated on how best to help in cooperating with Emergency Services in various types of scenarios. Not to mention the constant evolution to strive for greater efficiency and service to the general population during a disaster.
