I started with the Rock Island County Emergency Services (ESDA) in 1992 and from there I joined the Coal Valley Ambulance Service. They disbanded about 4 years later and I joined the combined service of the Coal Valley Fire/Rescue dept.I then moved to Kansas City, Missouri and joined the Claycomo Fire Dept of Claycomo, Mo. I was with them for 4 years and then returned to the Quad Cities and joined the Hampton Fire/Rescue Dept in Hampton, Illinois where I currently hold the rank of Firefighter/E.M.T.-B.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Nothing like running lights and sirens to go save someone's life!
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Not enough training and not enough officers to train them. Too many of us are getting hurt or killed on the job due to lack of training.
