My Training:: EMT, Basic volunteer standards, 1st responder, ICS 100, 200, 300 and 700

About Me:: Began serving as a Jr. firefighter with the NBVFD in 1971. Upon graduation from High School I took a job driving for a local private ambulance company, while continuing to volunteer. I obtained a basic EMT certification while attending junior college, and then changed course to begin a law enforcement career in 1978. I remained a reserve volunteer fire fighter over the course of the next 20 years, all in Putnam county, FL.
Retired in 1998 and moved back "home" to Neptune Beach. To my disappointment the NBVFD was being disbanded in favor of contracting for fire protection with the city of Jacksonville Fire-Rescue Department. I eventually purchased the last NBVFD truck, a 1975 Ford-LaFrance, and use it for public education, special events, parades, and hauling Santa Claus through the city each year. Now in my "2nd" career with the Division of Emergency Management here in Duval county.

Station 25 (1994) and volunteered the last two years before it to was disband. I miss JF&R as far as living in FL. If you would like to, add me to your list. Gustav is due in today !!
