About Me:: I'm on a volunteer squad in a rural town. We don't run a lot of calls, but we have fun. I enjoy being part of this little community in such a positive way. I work from home, so I get tagged to do the community education portion of the job alot...the senior's group, the elementary school, visits to the fire station from the Boy Scouts. I also cook a mean chili and am "little" so I end up in the back seat of the MVA holding stabilization alot.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: Family tradition, and a bizzare obsession with William Shatner and "RESCUE 911"

Yep, its a deer. Not a fire truck. Not a Knight slaying a Dragon. Not some sexy, sweaty, female firefighter picture of me posed on a hose bed. Its a dang deer. And I'm not going to tell you why I've posted a deer where my avatar should be. But at least it is eating fireweed.

Its the start of winter over here-well a little after the start of winter but it hasnt really been either that cold or wet here really yet,good luck with the rest of your summer and just while your sweeting it out think of just how cold it is over here just below the snowline also in a rural area just with considerably less population than what you have over there.
