When I was a child, and we were playing Policeman and Fireman, I was always the Ambulance Man. As an adult, I had been working as a Boilermaker, a dying trade. One day, during a long lay off my wife asked me what I REALLY wanted to do. I had always been involved in SAR, had always been Advanced First Aid trained. So the answer was obvious, I wanted to be a Paramedic! (Johny and Roy being childhood heroes and all). Shortly after that I began EMT school, eventually graduating Paramedic School 3rd in my class. Now working for a private service, in the box, my childhood dream job.
