Chuck, look at the fire it is busting out all over that roof. There is no need to cut a vent hole. The fire is way ahead of them. What they can do is insure that there engine & search guys are able to egress quikly. They can go around and throw ladders at windows plus they can take some windows. If there short on man power they can do a secondary search or help with the primary or pull some cieling & help the plugs get water on that fire.

Speechless, true... But let's all learn from our brothers mistake and help make sure that doesn't happen to one of our brothers we work with... COMMON SENSE, slippery driveway, might need to foot that ladder.. Or how about using a ladder truck, sometimes they are very handy.
