- Our department is all volunteer and what little I have been able to do on my own has been very frustrating.Work gives me a hassle for having to leave early, for both my first responders and fire 1 and 2 class.

- I became part of the services because a friend said I should come to a meeting some time they were lacking in volunteers,I went. 2 weekends later they had a burn excercise,I was all over it.Even got a good first hand look at a back-draft scenario.In a strange way it was beautiful and ever since I've been hooked!

Last night was agood reminder of why I enjoy this job so much.I know,I don't get paid for it,but, I consider it my duty to help out the community in any way I can.And this is where I have found my calling.
I'm not like some who are born into it or it's a family thing.I went to one call and I found myself wanting to help others.I wanted to be there to do what I could no matter how small the job or what the sacrifice.I found where I belong.
