Hello for those of you who do not know me let me introduce myself. My name is Seth Heller. I am an 11yr emt and 9yr firefighter. In my time I have seen alot of stuff but I was at a friends house tonight and they called 911 for his dad (while I started initial assessment) and the ambulance crews behavior prompted this discussion. After dispatching the ambulance it took them 30 min to arrive on scene(the station is 3 blocks away) after they passed the address while someone was waving them down. Upon arriving on scene (me still in my emt uniform bc i got off an 16 hour shift)  they were verbally abuseive to the pt as well as the family of the pt. Their onscene assessment was a joke and their professionalism left alot to be desired. I would like to open up for discussion if any of you have ever had this problem? Granted this wasnt my company or crew but still would like thoughts. Should I go through his chain of command to get these 3 emt's attitudes towards the job corrected or got directly to the D.O.H? It cant be very smart to do that in front of another emt at that. I mean come on people act right and do your job ya never know who is watching. I know someone has something to say.

Seth,
You should notify their supervisors. These guys need to change their attitudes or get into another line of work. I'm sure McDonald's is hiring.
