many fire police outfits wear ball caps with fire police patches on them and their reflective vests or coats

but for safety reasons I recommend the cairns helmets.

mine has the fire police lables and my badge #

and station initials on it with reflective marker tape.

it seems to me that people are paying more attention now than when i was using the ball cap.

old helmets can serve this purpose as you do not need a visor it can be removed and can easily be cleaned up, but the helmet will offer protection from falling of blowing debris

i bought 2 of these (one to use and one as a spare) they are bright and very visible lights.

you can get them in different colors as well.

Im former military with a strong sense of duty!

I have seen a lot of mistreatment of fire police not only by the public(drunks) but from many other departments who think they know what we are and are not allowed to do.

I don't hesitate to set them straight.

we are out all hours of the day or night often in horrible weather conditions. and as a volunteer we are on call 24/7/365

our police (local and state troopers) are great guys and will often check up on us to make sure we are ok or if we need flares.

I have a dealer for low cost blue lights and red lights who is more than happy to help us out i will post the site at a later date.
