I started this page because everywhere I noticed such as facebook, myspace and this site. There was everything but Native America. So I really do this to keep everyone who come across this site "Native Awareness" Thanks for joining. Also if you notice we even have our own patch design. I will have t-shirts coming out soon
My family is NC Cherokee and MS Choctaw. I guess that makes me a real Indain outlaw
Welcome Doug to our corner of the fire web
I am part Cherokee. My Great Grandmother on my Father's side was full blood Cherokee. I am not an official member of the Cherokee Nation. I am trying to research to see how I can. Ther is little or no information on my great grandmother's family and apparently her family's name was not on the Dawe's Roll. I hope that is ok with the members of your group. I am in a Native American History class and it has helped me a lot. My research paper for this class is on Native American Wildland Firefighters and was looking for references and found this site and I am very impressed with the pride and honor that is shown. Thank you for letting me become a member or this site. Have been in the fire service for about 19 years now and still love it and am excited about finding this group so I can hear everyone's stories and more about each of your Nation's and Tribes and Fire Service experiences.
