I need y'all's thoughts, I just got excepted into EMT class for the summer (2 months) is that too short of time to learn all the information? I am going to be doing nothing but studying but just wanted everyone's thoughts that did the class a full fall or spring or both or summer semester.

Im also doing my EMT class this summer and it starts in a couple of days. Its not that hard, i did my ECA in only 1 week so the EMT shouldn be too hard. Just stay focused and dont over stress yourself and you shall do fine.

It is accepted......excepted means you didn't get in. As for time wise, a summer course would be normal in two months. I'm betting this is an EMT-Basic course. Most EMT-B courses are a semester in length with 2 days/nights a week, so a summer course over 2 months is not difficult to get the material out. Although it does mean your summer is pretty much shot, but hey, good luck.

I once helped teach a full EMT Basic class for some Naval Reservists in 12 days.  Talk about some LONG DAMN DAYS!

You had better realize that your summer is, just like John said, pretty much shot.  You will have reading and studying to do when you aren't in class.  Is it doable?  Of course.  Can YOU do it?  Only YOU know that.

Like John says, accept the fact that you'll give up much of your summer, but it'll be worth it. You'll probably be doing Saturdays also. If you did okay in high school you'll do fine in EMT school. Two months is plenty of time. Just study every week and pay attention to the details. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. Good luck.

how can you do ECA in one week? I took it in three month 8 hours a week, and now licensed and certified
