Hey guys I'd like to take a second to ask a favor from FirefighterNation. My blog First In is up for a MVP of Philly blogs award. I am asking the FirefighterNation to help out by stopping buy and casting a vote for FIRST IN.

Social and alternative media like FF Nation and FF blogs are an important way to get our message out to the public who aren't always getting the real facts about issues like brownouts, closings and injuries. Writing a blog is also a risk in many jurisdictions. Vengeful administrators often resort to harsh discipline sometimes in violation of a firefighters rights just to silence them. So far I have been fortunate. But winning would go a long way to helping stave off any internal attempts to silence me.
