oops!

These contractors just completed putting in concrete and steel barriers to prevent parking on the sidewalk in front of a bar. How long do you think it will take them to notice where they parked their van?

They are called Removable Parking Bollards. http://www.bollards.ca/

It's amazing that people automatically assume that these guys had no idea what they were doing. Was it greenman that pointed out that they most likely are removable, either padlocked or bolted to provide access when needed. Guess it makes one feel superior to just assume that somebody screwed up.

Could be, maybe they each kick in a couple of bucks and pick the number of times someone points out that they've blocked themselves in. They'd make a killing with this group.

Of course, where they are, they're out of traffic/off of the street and out of the way for the entire time they're working. But then, I'm just being logical.

I agree that it makes a funny picture but it really isn't as bad as it seems..these posts are found pretty much all over Europe. They are quickly removed by inserting a triangular shaped key in them, turning it and lifting the post out of it's receiver which is cemented into the ground. Almost all of the fire fighters that I served with while in Germany carried a key in their coat pocket.
