Wowsers! Thats huge! I have always been pro-military. Was headed for the Marine Corps before I was surprised with daughter #1. I would say first, if it doesn't feel right, don't do it. Sometimes I think that our gut feeling or that little voice we ignore sometimes is God talking to us. My best advice would be to talk to people who have been there done that. I wouldn't recommend a recruiter because they have personal interests vested in you joining. Talk to people who can give you an honest opinion. As for furthering your career there are many routes you can take. I can give you some resources. But I am coming down off of my 48 with 1 hour of sleep. Bleh! Keep in touch. Ask Capt. Long about the little gal then went in the Army after being at District 1. Talk to ya soon!
Hey! I see your pictures there in front of the ECFR engine. I have driven that engine a time or two! You doing the sleeper program there? Let me know if you need any help or advice. Talk with ya later.
Congrats Hiedi... Once you complete your Medic and Fire Science Program you are going to be easily marketable for a good job, My area like most others are in need of FF/Medics. If fully trained and ready to go to work, they pretty much can pick which department they want to work for.
Stay safe feel free to fdrop me a note if you have a question. Bill
I have some big news. I have gained my affiliation! I'm going to be working as a volunteer at Skamania EMS Search and Rescue! I'm set to go through orientation next week. Its not a full on fire dept but I'm getting closer!
Hey there chicky poo! How are things going? You get on with an FD? You started any classes yet? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. Have a great weekend. :o)
One of our former volunteers and a good friend lives in your area, and I used to do some committee work the the chief and training officer there. Good luck with the medic training!
I ended up in Salmon Creek, wishing that I had gone to S.W lol. How have you been. I'm STILL waiting to test for Woodland. Im getting a ton of studying in and gearing up for next quarter. Are you still teaching at the training center?

Have a good weekend,

I'm not sure exactly how much but I'm guessing about 40 or 50 lbs. I'm back to work and can weigh a 50' section then. Is that too late?
Good luck to you on your test!
