So my department has a 4500 gallon tri-axle monster of a tanker that we have given the nickname "the whale." I want to know if anyone has anything bigger. I dont know how to upload a photo from a differant computer but if you check out my page there is a pix of it somewhere. You will notice it (the big white truck) LOL

A wet side tanker has the tank mounted on the frame and is painted the color of the apparatus. This is what you see, no side sheets .
A dry side has the tank inside of the apparatus body like a regular class a engine.
Pierce Contender website has pictures of both.
So does fouts bros.
we have a 3500 gallon rolling pumper tanker, the only problem is filling.
They actually filled the empty space with rubber innertubes to keep the "slosh factor" down. It sounds completely ridiculous, but it actually worked awesome! I got to drive it last week, and I honestly didn't feel anything I would consider out of the ordinary. No overdone water movement as all. I asked them about it and they popped open the tank to show me.
I think I' m in love!
the tankers around these parts are 2000 - 2500 gal. for flow through a tanker shuttle.
3200 Gallon is our biggest. You got me beat big time Dustin.
Well ours is not that big, its only 4000 gallons. Its a 1989 international eagle with a 1959 gasoline tank on it back. We built it about 4 years ago, my Lt, called me and said the truck is painted. But you need to come see it. I got my teenage son and went to his shop, to find this beatiful red and white tanker with flames on the hood. So it's name is now the flame...
this is like the one in dunagan, nm otero county

Thats one hell of a truck!
3,000 gal. pumper/tanker on tandems
