Beacon responded to a report of a fire last night at 4 in the morning. units on scene confirmed working fire in an abandoned building that had already burned a couple years earlier. A couple firefighters persisted on trying to make an interior attack which was pointless due to the fact that nobody would be in there and that there was heavy fire load with an unstable building. There is no reason for anybody to be going inside the building unless lives are at risk. I don't understand why people would risk it being that the building was abandoned

Hey, you guys got a job! Niceeeee! Cold,,,but nice. While I wasnt there, sounds like not alot to be gained by putting anyone inside. I absolutely agree on the "Risk vs Reward" concept. Post some pics if you got some!
Be good and stay safe on the Southside!

(Still on Tear)
Sounds like "Hero Syndrome" at work.
If the building had burned before and it is abandoned then there is no reason to go in. Like Mike said, Risk vs Reward. What are you going to gain from making an interior attack? If the building had heavy fire load and the building is unstable then definitely no one, absolutely no one should be inside. Our own safety comes first, we get hurt then there will be nobody to fight the fire.
