I wanted to share with all my friends here in FFN that I have suffered a heart attack which luckily was caught early. Last night I had really bad heartburn which at first I thought was the flu. But when the pain started to present in both shoulders, chest pain radiated to me shoulders I knew I was in trouble. Ended up getting transported by ambulance Code 3 to the regional trauma center. Testing revealed two affected arteries, one blocked 100% and the other 95%. I had a stint put in for the 100% blocked artery and the right coronary artery will be dealt with in the cath lab on Wednesday.
Hopefully, I won't need to go to a bypass surgery, and my continuing to write articles, comment on your forum posts will continue past this week. If for some reason things go south for me, please remember me as one if your buds that always took the time to care and listen. If I sound scared, trust me on this one, going through a MI as the patient totally changes your perspective. I hope to still be around next week. Your prayers would really be appreciated.
Fraternally,
Mike Schlags aka Captain Busy

Mike,

Thanks for calling me yesterday - I know that this is an intimidating experience for you.  I hope that the questions I told you to ask your cardiologist were helpful.

I continue to pray for your full recovery and for your pain and anxiety to be minimized until your recovery is complete.

Feel free to call on me any time you need someone to talk to, especially for the next couple of weeks until I return to work.

Have a Merry Christmas and hang in there, brother!

Quite your whining Mike, an MI is not going to be the end of you.  Sheesh...talk about being a drama queen.  I'll light a candle and send off a request to the great Flying Spaghetti Monster.

cheers, and cheer up!
