HUNTINGTON PARK — Fire crews were battling a two-alarm blaze at a food processing plant in Huntington Park early Monday morning.
The fire in the 6700 block of Alameda Street appears to have been caused by an explosion.

Gary (IN) Fully Involved House with Exposures

At approximatly 1:30am GFD was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 4300 Block Of Jackson, on arrival Battalion 10 advised of a working house fire with exposure to the South. AT that point a third engine was requested to the scene. With the use of three lines and a deckgun the fire was brought under control. The fire building was vacant and the exposure was occupied. No injuries were reported at the fire scene and another great job by tired and overworked Gary Firefighters!

Newark (OH) Structure Fire

Newark,Ohio Fire Dept. was dispatched to a commercial Structure fire on Hollar Lane on 5-2-2011, Newark Engine 3 was first on the scene and marked a fully involved structure fire, Newark Battalion Chief Tom O'Brein started a working fire assignment requesting ladder trucks, Heath, Granville Twp. and West Licking Fd's responded there towers, Newark Twp, and Madison Twp. responded with engines and Newton twp responded the rehab unit. no injuries reported and no cause has been determined at this time. crews remained on the scene overnight to take care of hot spots.

Darien (NY) House Fire

Darien Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a structure fire on Broadway Rd. Darien 502 went on location reporting a working fire and requested the 2nd alarm. Heavy fire conditions put defensive operations into place. Mutual aid companies were Alden, Corfu, Alexander, ESU-2, & City of Batavia (FAST). Indian Falls, Pembroke, Bethany, & Crittenden provided fill in companies.
