Gary (IN) Fully Involved House with Exposures

At approximatly 1:30am GFD was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 4300 Block Of Jackson, on arrival Battalion 10 advised of a working house fire with exposure to the South. AT that point a third engine was requested to the scene. With the use of three lines and a deckgun the fire was brought under control. The fire building was vacant and the exposure was occupied. No injuries were reported at the fire scene and another great job by tired and overworked Gary Firefighters!

Newark (OH) Structure Fire

Newark,Ohio Fire Dept. was dispatched to a commercial Structure fire on Hollar Lane on 5-2-2011, Newark Engine 3 was first on the scene and marked a fully involved structure fire, Newark Battalion Chief Tom O'Brein started a working fire assignment requesting ladder trucks, Heath, Granville Twp. and West Licking Fd's responded there towers, Newark Twp, and Madison Twp. responded with engines and Newton twp responded the rehab unit. no injuries reported and no cause has been determined at this time. crews remained on the scene overnight to take care of hot spots.

Providence (RI) Still Box

Providence Firefighters were called out on a "Still/Box" of a reported structure fire in an occupied home around 4:30am on Friday, April 22nd. They arrived on O'Connnor St to find heavy fire showing from floor three of the three story wood frame structure. Command requested an additional ladder and engine to the scene before calling a second alarm as fire quickly spread through the home. Firefighters were only in the building for a short amount of time before everyone was called out of the structure for defensive operations. At that time, fire was visible from the second floor, third floor, and through the roof. Four ladder trucks were in operation as well as several hand lines. It took about an hour before the flames were knocked down. At least one tenant of the home was being treated on scene with unknown injuries. There was no word of any other injuries as of 5:30am.

This all came while crews were still cleaning up on scene of an earlier working fire in a garage on Smith Street.
