As conditions worsened, the firefighter made it to a 2nd floor window and called out for a ladder. This put firefighter Bells RIT team into action by grabbing the nearest extension ladder to assist the firefighter. This video shows the firefighter falling from the window to the ground and other firefighters carrying him to the front of the house. This video should be used as a training tool. There are several training classes and videos offered that show proper technique in "ladder bail outs". You and your dept. should learn these techniques so this does not happen to you. His injuries were minor, but he could have suffered worse injuries. Engine Tanker 22 was dispatched on the working fire assignment. Engine Tanker 22 responded with 6 and Lt 22 Pattison. Units arrived on the scene and began an exterior attack on the fire in the B/C Corner. Engine Tanker 22's crew arrived and began setting up for the RIT Assignment. The crew threw ground ladders to the building and made a 360 of of the building. The crew remained RIT throughout the fire however they assisted with some overhaul later during the incident. Crews remained on the scene for approximately 4 hours. Units on the scene from Keyser (33), McCoole (23), New Creek (38), Fountain (39), Potomac (22), Tri-Towns (24), Bowling Green (8) and Keyser EMS (57).
