</a><br />BLOOMINGTON, MD -- On 12/16/2008 in<br />
the afternoon hours, Allegany County<br />
dispatched an MVC on Route 135 west of<br />
Bloomington, MD on Backbone Mountain.<br />
Engine Company 36(Bloomington VFD),<br />
Squad 22 (Potomac Fire Company of<br />
Westernport, MD), and EMS 50 (Tri-Towns<br />
EMS) were dispatched on the call. While<br />
en route to the scene dispatched<br />
advised Squad 22 that Maryland State<br />
Police were on the scene confirming that<br />
one subject was trapped in the vehicle.<br />
Squad 22 arrived on the scene to find a<br />
single vehicle accident, a SUV on it's side<br />
in a ditch. The driver was injured and still<br />
trapped inside the vehicle. The squad<br />
crew removed both passenger side<br />
doors, the "B" Post, Cut the "A" Post,<br />
used a Saws All to cut the windshield and<br />
the roof to flap the roof back.<br />

The victim was removed, packaged, and transported to a local trauma center by the ambulance. The video<br />
has a dash camera mounted in the front of Squad 22, a mounted camera in the walk in box to observe the<br />
crew getting ready, and the new FCII Helmet Camera view of the extrication.
