I am smart, dedicated and love Firefighters. They hold a special place in my heart. I would rather laugh than cry so I am a joker. My son was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and served as the Goodwill Ambassador for MDA 2 years in a row. We built a great friendship with the Firefighters. They served our family, and my son, for years. Now, I have the opportunity to pay it forward to Firefighters that have been injured and/or the families of our fallen heroes. It's difficult at times, but one of the most rewarding experiences ever.
Bereavement Advisor, Wildland Firefighter Foundation
The opportunity to join the WFF was presented to me shortly after my son passed away. It was meant to be. I work with families here and I imagine he is working with the fallen on the other side. He loved the Firemen!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love being able to serve those who serve, and risk so much for us, and the opportunities to work to make a difference in their lives.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Wildland Firefighters need "the bucket." I heard that it contains special soap, shampoo along with other supplies to help fight the toxic effects of breathing smoke and the harmful chemicals on their skin.
