About Me:

I am 1 of 2 females in my fire dept. I grew up around firefighting my whole life so it was kind of meant to be. I live I the hills of WV and wouldn't have it any other way. I was always told I wouldn't be able to become a firefighter due to the fact when I was 12 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer, but I wasn't allowing anything to get in my way of becoming a firefighter. I am very thankful that I survived it and I am now and will always be a firefighter.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

It's in my blood. My Dad, brother, and uncle are all firefighters.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

To better my community and keep it safe

Top Issues Facing Responders:

In my dept one major problem is the males feeling females shouldn't be firefighters and looking down on us. And another big problem is budgets.
