Regarding firedept.: firefighter, corporal (firefighting, rescuetechniques), sergeant (supervising interventions fire/rescue, hazardous substances, HRM), Hazardous substances reconnaissance (haven't got a clue how things are called overseas, but it's got to have a name...)
About Me:
I'm married to Sabrina, Firefighters daughter, and have 3 children aged 19mnth's, 4yrs and 10yrs. joined dept. in 1999. Meanwhile moved to the firestation, where we answer emergency calls and send out the cavalry... The whife does dispatch while I participate in the"field work".

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Got to know a few local heroes, and got bitten by the "global firefighting-virus", no cure available...

These guy's would go thrue a blazing fire for me, and right back at them...
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Finding new colleagues to join the corps, especially volunteers seems to get harder by the years. The courses, trainings and other demands also grow harder by the years, so I guess it's a natural consequence... That and people getting more selfish.
