I have been with the Providence Canteen Unit for 7 years. In the last 2 years I have started a Water S&R team (1) on JetSki's (2) Diving Team. It has been a tuff roll starting up my own water rescue team but I'm getting through it. I have done 32 miles of shore search in 2010 for Ma and 52 dives as well in Ma and RI. Just wondering what you all use for dive gear in the warm water. Full face mask? What do you find most affective in under water recovery why, how come and how many people do you use? This would be a great help for me and my crew when we train. We use 2 man groups and use the 1.5 viz patern it seams to be the most affective way to do it in the New England waters. Just looking for all your input.I also have a hard time training new members in fresh water lakes and ponds it takes me 3 times longer… Continue

chris, welcome to the group ,,,, it's a fun place & does have some interesting blog discussions but i also like seeing how other departments do the same thing ,,,, but i areally like looking at different styled apparatus's used all over the world ,,,, i'm a crash firefighter and we have some of the weirdest ,,,, word to the wise, if you trade patches be careful, there are a few people here that just want to get then not send one back ,,,, i won't mail anything now till i have something in hand ,,,, my goal now is not to get a patch from you i do not collect them ,,,, (but i will trade duty tee-shirts from far away countries and that's how i got "BURNED", i sent the sleaze a tee-shirt & 3 patches and got nothing back ...) i'm just watch-n your back, something most of us on the job understand, it's a big part of what the brotherhood and the family is all about ,,,, if you wanna add me as a friend, great ,,,, if not, that too is OK because this message is intended to mostly welcome but also warn you at the same time ,,,,
what we do makes a difference, be safe, god bless and smile a lot, it will piss someone off lmao :) :) ,,,,
