Same here, been lucky only thing we had was last year training with a mutil-aid dept. We were getting filled up doing a tanker shuttle training with this dept. And the driver of the pumper needed to move his pumper a little to get a better draft. They use an old well at there station. Well we did not get to disconnect the hose from our truck. Well it was like a tug of war. Till the guts got pulled out from our intake. We where lucky that no one was hurt. Get the odd truck stuck in the mud. I have pictures of a station close by who rolled there rig on top of another car. Not a good day!
Wow, busy station... Was asking you to put it in the Roll Call Forum so that everyone could see. Nice to know what type of station what you have as well how many calls you do in a year. Heard of one station in England where they where full time and he retired and they never ran a call. Can you imagine that never ran one call. Be sitting around with your buddies and saying remember the time we got that one call, but it was just a wrong number or do you remember the person knocking at our station door all freaked out, but they where just asking for directions... Other than parades and driver training. Never rolled a truck to any call....
Check out Roll Call Forum and put some info about your Fire House in... Like to hear what your station is like, what you have as well as for number for firefighters as well as number of calls. Pass it around to your Firefighter Friends too....
400 to 500 calls a year, that's a hand full.... We are about half that at our hall. As a training officer I feel that between meetings and trainings for the 8 other halls and new recruit. I'm closed to doing your 500 calls...hah!
My weekend was OK..had a SMAT drill on Saturday and ran all day and night Sunday...calls were spaced out just enough to screw up the day lol. Oh well...sleep is overrated anyway
