When you have time I would like to hear more about that program. Code enforcement is our biggest issue. But the efficiency is an issue as well. Hang in there brother. And as always stay safe.

it all depends on the shift, sometimes I only do 12 hour shifts, and sometimes I do 24hr or more shifts.

with us it depends from station to station how the atmosphere is as well... the main factor that seems to determine how fun the shift is how large of a crew is on duty

The one thing I want for the new year is for me and my family to keep our health and happiness, and to learn much about being a firefighter.
And you what do you wish for in this new year??

It was a very long and complex situation, especially for a kid to deal with.

She's 18 now and recently moved to Oregon. Last contact I had with her was maybe three months ago... not sure exactly what she is up to now.
When I finally got Child Protective Services and the police involved, they didn't do anything really, and we drifted apart a bit after an incident when I refused to let her mom's child-molesting boyfriend drive me home when he was trashed and so her folks told her I was unstable and that she wasn't allowed to see me.
After I got CPS and the PD involved, the mother moved them to Germany, and then a few months later the boyfriend moved them to New Zealand.

So, that was my life lesson that you can't save everyone, and that sometimes shit happens.

I'm 17 now and I think she and her situation have got to be what have had the biggest influence upon my life. I think its possible that I'm still in emergency services now because I'm somehow trying to make up for that I wasn't able to help her.
