Violent Incident Protecting Emergency Responders which is what the state police use here in KY for violent situations like drunk and disorderly, drug use, approaching houses that could have guns when your responding to domestic abuse issues. Teaches you how to enter, talk, communicate, etc.
thanks for the input, yes the call really happened and when the Captain who ran the call told me the story, he cried, no one wants to get there guys hurt and he felt responsible, as mentioned, you don't use the ERG for something that behaves like a fixed facility incident. Yup, it was a semi-truck trailer, but it was a confined space with a material that was water reactive. Take care, Mike
Ben called me on his way north from Macon co. I have talked to him a few times since then. I have been busy though because my wife and I just had a baby girl on the 8th.
I am working as an electrician as I always have but I have been looking into going paid. I am planning on keeping up my electrical after I get on a paid dept. I won't really be able to make as much as I currently do if I was to only fight fire but I I have always loved it
I used to drive "Tweety Bird" when Ben first started to work with you so it's been about 3 1/2 years. I don't think you ever knew my real name but I worked under Chief Price
Does that system displace the oxygen? Is is safe to activate if someone is in side that we cant get to. I know by then I have to make a command decission. Which will be to deploy the fit if i can get to the person with a hard line.
