we are all in the business of helping others for all kinds of reasons. on april 10, 2009, our own brothers and sisters needed that help. silver bluff volunteer fire department took a direct hit from F-3 tornado and just leveled their headquarters. thank goodness no one was there. i was really impressed with the brotherhood of fellow firefighters. the tornado came through beech island's district, through silver bluff into new ellington's district. not only was the mutual aid in place and working, but i seen other departments in the area from places all over. i truly see why everyone calls on the fire department for everything and i am proud to be a part of the that. the unselfishness of a firefighter goes beyond reason.
kudos to all that came to help out and i hope to see this station up and operating soon. be safe out there, and pay attention to the weather for sure.

The best news was nobody was injured. Sorry to see that good equipment damaged, but hopefully they will be able to be repaired.
