One of Those days

So I'm sitting hear watching the Red Sox playing the Orioles, trying to catch up (2-4 in the 8th). Have you ever had one of those days where you got absolutely nothing done? (BTW, the Sox just tied the score, triple, outfielder SLAMMED into the green Monster, laid him out). Anyway, I'm wondering what TS

Hannah is going to do this weekend, as we are planning to go to Ellington's parade. It's probably the best one in the area, but not if its pouring Saturday. I cleaned the bathrooms a bit,… Continue

Rig Fire

Went on my first rig fire today! It was way cool. I'm so glad I became a firefighter. The workover rig was a comlpete loss but we did get the gas well out. Was a brand new rig worth $1.5 million now its just a pile of scrap metal. Good training material for NOT WELDING AROUND OPEN GAS WELLS.

attacks

I have noticed a lot of negativity in the forums lately . Personal attacks about spelling to the playing of word games to a persons beliefs . I don't believe this is good for us , i know some people that were on here at the first of the year that do not come on because of the attacks brought upon them by the " guardians of grammar " and the " spelling specialist " . Just because some one don't think like you don't mean they can't be useful or contribute to a forum . All opinions should be… Continue

Trauma Codes

This weekend I pulled my first trauma code. I kinda felt that is was a waist of time, resources and money. There were 3 pts in the car and the driver was DOA. The person I coded was front pass and I felt the pt was not a viable pt but due to the fact that the first responding EMT stated the pt had intially a pulse ended up being my deciding factor to code. Looking at the state of the pt I had the gut feeling they were not a viable pt and we should have focused our efforts on the surviving pt… Continue
