I grew up in the fire house - My dad was chief for 13 years, my mom Auxiliary President, I joined EMS at 24, married a fireman. My brother is now Chief and husband Department President - guess you could say it's in my blood

Candles - people JUST don't get the danger!

People really DON'T get the dangers of candles - do they? I used to love the smell of scented candles but I only used them on special occassion when I knew I wouldn't forget them or fall asleep because of the known dangers. Then my husband and I had a baby and a few years later we got a puppy - well let's just say the candles got put away before baby and have never returned. BUT I am very happy to share that I found a GREAT alternative.

Have you got that canteen directivein writting somewhere? I'd love to post it and hand it out at our next meeting. Pop is not good to serve at a scene and it is more than coffee hour.

There are only two of us that are active in scene support at our department. Wendy and myself, but Wendy has just had a baby (about 4 months ago now I guess) and my kids help me when I need to get things out to a scene. How about with yours?
