Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My dad has been chief in our local town since I was born and my brother is a full time firefighter-emt in Seattle, WA. I grew up in the Fire Station. Also, the adrenaline rush I get when my pager goes off is better than anything else.

Hey Kim...What is your Dad's name? I retired from the SFD in 1998 and was a dispatcher on C shift after being a class 5 paramedic. Enjoy your fire fighting. Isn't it a blast?
Good luck on the fire science! Just remember to never stop following your dreams. Mine came true 6months ago. How far are you from Burlington Iowa I started my firefighting career not far from there.
It is great to see women transitioning into such a great career. The traditional "firefighters being men" are changing. More and more women are feeling the adrenalin rush of firefighting. Keep with your goals!!!!!!
