I am working toward getting my associates degree in fire science and then going on to get my bachelors degree from Western Illinois University in Fire Administration.

My dad has been chief in our local town since I was born and my brother is a full time firefighter-emt in Seattle, WA. I grew up in the Fire Station. Also, the adrenaline rush I get when my pager goes off is better than anything else.
It is great to see women transitioning into such a great career. The traditional "firefighters being men" are changing. More and more women are feeling the adrenalin rush of firefighting. Keep with your goals!!!!!!

These entry level positions require no previous experience. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. A GED is acceptable.
