Pressure Tank Explodes at Manufacturing Plant

Melbourne Florida Fire Department responded to an industrial accident that sent two people to the hospital, one person was airlifted to Orlando the other ground transported. A pressurized tank holding 170 degree "hot lotion" exploded in Absolutely Natural manufacturing building. The force of the explosion penetrated the drywall next to the tank. A 64-year-old man received second degree burns to over 60% of his body and was airlifted to the burn unit at Orlando Regional Medical Center by First Flight Air Medical Transport, the other worker suffered minor injuries. Melbourne Fire officials and Melbourne Building Inspector are investigating the incident and OSHA was notified.
