I am a nationally registered EMT-I, was a basic for 7 months in New York and now have certificates in evok, hazard materials and CPR. Got hired to do two months of non-emergency transport and on March 1, of 2008 my companys contract with Dekalb County backing 911 fire went into effect and I got trained in real life real quick. I have done CPR more times then I can count. I have handled many kinds of broken bones. With the help of alot of awesome firefighters I am a better EMT-I now then would be probable without them. I had a parimedic from staton 1 walk my partner and I though our very first crime scene. Can't thank him enough for teaching us what to look for and what not to do. I have a long way to go but backing Dekalb County firefighters has giving me actual real life training that I am grateful to have.

EMT-I
Relationship Status:
Divorced
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
although I always wanted to be in the medical feild, My son at 4 had become a hazzard to himself, busted eye, head, broke bone. So In order not to panic and break down crying, decided I would become an EMT but I was a basic and georgia didnt accept basics when I moved here. Other then that I love helping people in there time of need. I LOVE WHAT I DO!!!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I get to help people who need help and are in pain.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
seeing or hearing calls go out that involve babies n cardiac arrest, or having been abused.
my biggest one is working with a medic to keep people's heart beating and air in their lungs and getting to the hospital only to have a doctor call time of death without any intervention. keep them alive till you can get them to surgery. doesnt always apply.
*sitting here just laughing* knowing how you are about this !! and also knowing how eager you are to get back to work, but you need to rest and not be cleaning and stuff !!!! *stern look*
