Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I started out as an EMT because I wanted to help people and the medical field is one I have always wanted to be involved in. I got into fire fighting a couple of years after that and now I just can't get away from it. I love fighting fires and all the other stuff that goes along with it.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

I think one of the major issues facing the service is the lack of support we get from the public. I read about some fire fighters who were hurt recently in an article online. People were commenting "not the hero thing again" and I couldn't believe the lack of respect we get from the people we are there to help.
