When I first joined I was amazed on the support of the men in my department - they never treated me any different, they supported my decisions and encouraged my ambitions in becoming an EMT. Once I passed my EMT class they encouraged me to take some additonal classes, like the Mass Casualty Command class which came in very handy we had a a house explosion three days after the class and I was command it was very emotional but my guys stood by me the whole way. When I first joined my very first fire was a double fatality (two children) that hit home, but once again the guys were there.... I still get the anxiety and fear everytime I have to pack up, I have taken SCBA confidence class and had some one on one but I can't get the thought of those little ones out of my head everytime I hear a fire call.. Scares the shit out of me..... Well there is so much more I could type but then I would have nothing to talk about LOL.... BE SAFE MY FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS.......
