Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Trotwood (the Wood) Fire & Rescue (combo dept.). Home to the 1928 Ahrens Fox that in it's day was utilized for a full year to pump the town's water system. Still wins competitions for 1st water. Very nice piece of equipment. West Milton Fire Department (Volunteer) Best powdered waffles around.
My Training:
Ohio Level II, Ohio Fire Inspector, Hazmat Tech(I'm not on "the team" so I don't receive annual re-fresher training, BERT Auto Extrication, IFSAC Firefighter 2, Indiana Firefighter 2, Indiana EMT-B(they don't recognize National Registry for basics, nor do they allow basics to use an ET tube), and all that basic NIMS stuff.
About Me:
20+ yrs dabeling into just about every area of Public Safety (Police, Communications, Corrections, FIRE/EMS, Private Security, Military State Defense Force)
My buddy got me into after I graduated high school. I thought it would be nice to help my neighbors and others. Here I am still doing it. It is the BEST job in the World!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
No 2 calls are ever the same. Cannot beat the schedule.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Wellness and fitness, SEATBELTS, company officers enforcing the use of SEATBELTS, manning (4 or more per rig in the career houses). It takes more than 4 in a RIT situation.
Hey man sorry it took so long to get back to you. Just noticed the msg. Yea, Dayton still requires us to be medics. I just got mine, we get 30 months from when we start the class to finish.
