Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I have always had a fascination with emergency services ever since the show EMERGENCY! came on the air. Then, when I was in high school I had several friends who became Junior Volunteer Fire Firefighters and I LOVED listening to their stories. On 9-11 I sat in a conference room at work watching the horrible events unfold. I had just turned to a colleague (a retired police officer) and asked "You don't think those towers will come down do you?" and the first tower collapsed. I was absolutely devasted because I knew that hundreds of fire fighters had run into those buildings as people were running out. I haven't been the same since that moment and decided to dedicate what I could of my free time to helping safety professionals however I could.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I get such a rush from seeing everyone come together as a team to help people!
