Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I initially started in emergency services as something to do with my dad, I got bit by the bug and have been doing it since. I got my EMT-Basic when I was 18 and got my Paramedic at 19. I love being a Paramedic and making a difference, although I hate the BS calls sometimes.

Top Issues Facing Responders:: Lack of understanding by the public as to what we do. Lack of funding for volunteer agencies.
