    welcome to ffn. from ny

You know I never in a million years would have believed how bad I have been treated by people when they find out that I got hurt as a volunteer firefighter.
I have been called a fool and dumb ass for choosing to ruin my life for nothing by volunteering. I have never regretted what I have done. I love being a volunteer. I would rather spend a couple of days underneath one of these old military surplus trucks that the forestry service dumps on us trying to figure out an electrical or mechanical problem than I would out hunting, AND boy do I love to hunt. But I love the fire service.
I just dont understand how all of the injured volunteers can be treated the way that they are. Just does not seem right.

    Becarefull out on the road.
Sometimes that looks more dangerous than being a volunteer firefighter.
    Stay safe!!
