Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I WAS A SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST WORKING FOR THE ELVIS PRESLEY TRAUMA CENTER IN MEMPHIS, TN AND ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A FIREFIGHTER/FIRST RESPONDER. I FELT THAT I COULD DO MORE IF I WERE THERE ON SCENE FIRST. ESPECIALLY AFTER 911! MY HEART ACHED MORE FOR MY TRUE CALLING IN LIFE. I ALWAYS FELT LIKE SOMETHING WAS MISSING IN MY OTHER CAREER.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
KNOWING THAT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS I DID THE BEST TO MY ABILITY TO SAVE A LIFE, STRUCTURE OR WHATEVER IT MAY HAVE BEEN.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
WE HAVE STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT BUT STILL SO MANY OF US FORGET THE FIRST ISSUE AT HAND, COMMUNICATION. SO MANY FF ARE TALKING ON THE RADIOS THAT, COMMUNICATION IS LOST OR MISUNDERSTOOD. SEVERAL IF NOT MANY FIREFIGHTERS HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES AND ALL OF THE STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT COULD NOT SAVE THEM....
