Why I Joined Fire/EMS: Like many, my father was a volunteer firefighter and there was nothing that I ever wanted to be more, so at 14 I joined as a Junior which in 1971 didn't limit my participation at all. By the time I was 18 I'd been inside on working fires on the initial attack, I'd had gas fumes ignite in my face and before I was 21 I was driving an Engine.
How times have changed! THANK GOD!!!
