About Me:
Like I said above, I was born into this... Both my mom & dad were members of the fire department and both were EMTs that worked for the original Canonsburg Ambulance Service (VFW 191). I grew up in the fire dept. and had many "2nd Dad's and Uncles" that soon gave me "brothers & sisters". I've always known that this was going to be a vital part of my life and will be for a very long time. At 14, I became an official member of my volunteer fire dept. and at 16, I became a PA Certified EMT. When I turned 18, I was finally able to run on the ambulances and became a volunteer at both Rostraver/West Newton Emergency Services and Tri-Community Ambulance. My mom and I continued to be members of Bentleyville Volunteer Fire Department up until a few months ago. Currently, my mom, stepdad and myself all work at Elizabeth Twp. Area EMS and Tri-Community Ambulance. I recently finished my Paramedic training and became Nationally Registered and PA State Certified in September of 2008. I love helping people and saving lives! I don't know anything else...
I may be a girly-girl that likes to wear make-up and get dressed up but I definitely know how to get down & dirty with my boys. I know my limitations and I strive for the highest in everything I do. And although many have their ideas of what females in emergency services truly are, I am proud to say that I am neither!
Anything else you may want to know... feel free to ask me and I'll more than happily try to answer your questions ; )
Being in emergency services was never really a choice for me... it was my life!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the fun that I bring to those that are burnt-out or tired of their job. I have such a bubbly personality, in general, but the fun and energy that I bring to everything because for the most part, all of this is new to me. They have such a good time teaching me and showing me the ropes and breaking me into EMS.
