About Me:
I grew up with a father and grandfather who are both veterinarians, so that got me interested in the medical field. Decided to go to Nursing school half way thru college and decided to do EMT while waiting to get into clinicals. So far I love it and would probably be happy doing primarily EMS for a lot longer (if the $ was better). Started on Williams Bay rescue and decided to join Delavan Township rescue so I could get a greater variety of calls.
I grew up in Elkhorn, went to college at the University of Iowa for 2 years. Took off school and traveled for 2 years (primarily in South America and throughout the States), went to UW-Whitewater for 2 more years and now am in the Nursing program at Gateway.
My boyfriend and I are both on the dept in Delavan (he's a FF). It makes life easier to be with someone who understands what its like to have to get up and leave in the middle of dinner, etc. We live together (1 block away from main station) and have a black lab named Archie and a cat.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Love being around people and being able to help. Puts me in a lot of unique situations (and people) and keeps me on my toes. Plus it seemed like a great way to see if nursing school was the right path for me.
