After about a year, I soon discovered that I sucked royally as a firefighter and stuck to EMS!
About Me:
I'm happily married with no children by choice. The only mothering I do is to my cat. I've worked in health care all my life. I love to learn and I'm always taking a class in something. I'm also a movie & internet freak. My husband just retired from the Baltimore City Fire Dept. after 32 years.
I initially took the EMT class so I could expand my medical knowledge and know what to do in an emergency. My partner was a volunteer firefighter and I decided why waste this training? So I joined the local volunteer fire company and took advantage of every class I could!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I quit in 1995 to pursue my education. The best part was helping people and the network of loyal friends I met!
Top Issues Facing Responders:
People calling the ambulance for non-emergent illnesses and injury (i.e. a hang nail )
