Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Started as a volunteer race support for mountain bike races, developed the promoter's medical services program. This last year I joined the Orion Township FD. After 9/11/01, I felt helpless and was not able participate in operations. I had this strong pull to get involved in fire/ems so that i had the training and experience to "help" if needed.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The rush when the tones go
Top Issues Facing Responders:
continually updating our training, assessing current response liabilities and formulating response plans, advancing ems techniques including cryotherapy/clinical hypothermia for cardiac and spinal injury patients.
